About Us
Fueled by people who are passionate about the insurance industry and giving back to the community
YIPT is Toronto’s platform for insurance industry professionals to engage, grow and give back to the community. Initiatives are held throughout the year giving members access to peer-to-peer networking, mentorship programs, and relationship building.
YIPT is a non-profit organization with over 1000 members in Ontario. This diverse group of members consists entirely of insurance industry professionals at varied stages in their career ranging from entry level to seasoned.
We also encourage industry professionals at senior levels to join as members of the YIPT community. We are committed to promoting the growth of the organization’s diverse membership and connecting members and industry leaders.
Mission
To build, connect and inform Toronto’s insurance community by providing a platform for individuals to enhance their leadership skills, build their networks, and develop their careers through YIPT’s three organizational pillars: community enhancement, professional networking, and learning opportunities. We aim to become the catalyst for individuals to stand out within the insurance industry and build their networks.

GET INVOLVED WITH YIPT
As part of YIPT's mission to build and connect Toronto's insurance community, we rely heavily on our dedicated executive team comprised entirely of volunteers from the industry. With YIPT's continued growth, we are always looking for other YIPs who share our entrepreneurial spirit and passion for shaping the future of our professional community.

General requirements include:

Work and reside in the Greater Toronto Area

Current YIPT member (subscribing to our distribution list and/or attending YIPT events)

Work within the general insurance industry (or related discipline)

Able to attend monthly Executive Team meetings

Able to attend and assist in the execution of monthly YIPT events

Enthusiastic, self-motivated team player

Strong communication and networking skills
Interested in joining one of our teams:
Media Team: The Media team drives awareness and engagement by telling YIPT’s story through digital content and communications across social platforms, the website, and email communications. They ensure consistent messaging, promote YIPT’s events and initiatives, and highlight members, partners, and achievements to strengthen YIPT’s presence within the insurance community.
Events Team: The Events team plans, organizes, and executes YIPT’s calendar of professional and social events, from networking mixers to annual galas. Their role is to create meaningful experiences that connect members, foster learning, and celebrate the community.
Member Engagement: The Member Engagement team builds and strengthens relationships within the YIPT community by creating opportunities for participation, feedback, and collaboration through charitable initiatives, the ambassador program, and mentorship opportunities. They focus on enhancing the member experience and fostering a welcoming, inclusive network of young insurance professionals.
